One of my greatest fears about juvenile dependency cases is that they are being handled by an attorney who’s not experienced in this area. Many times my office gets a call from a parent who’s been in the system for over a year and their child has been removed from their home and away from their care. At that point, many times parents come to me asking, how can you help me now? And much of the case has already been determined and I’m scrambling to help this family make the changes that need to happen to get their child home.

Unfortunately, juvenile dependency cases take place in a very strict time frame and as a result of that, we don’t have a lot of time. So I get to work right away on these cases to do everything we can in a short period of time to get children home.
